About this care
We assess flattening, head asymmetry and neck movement, then discuss observation, treatment or helmet fitting according to examination and measurements.
When to seek a consultation
- My baby's head looks flat at the back or slanted to one side.A flat back of the head suggests brachycephaly; diagonal flattening suggests plagiocephaly.
- My baby lies on one side, and the head shape seems to be changing.Looking one way flattens the skull in a vicious cycle; plagiocephaly often stems from torticollis.

Head shape and neck movement
We measure head shape and asymmetry and assess neck movement and development. Tests and helmet treatment are considered after discussing the findings with caregivers.
When helmet therapy is indicated

Visit & Detailed Examination
Examination and head measurements guide testing. Imaging is discussed when sutures or other findings require further assessment.

Custom Scan & Helmet Fabrication
A 3D scan at the I Love Helmet center yields a custom head-shaped helmet (1–2 weeks).

First Fitting & Interim Check
First helmet begins; a month later a follow-up scan and revisit confirm the correction prognosis.

Second Helmet Decision
Follow-up scan data is analyzed at our clinic to make a medical decision on whether a second helmet is needed.

Ongoing Monitoring & Completion
For a 2nd helmet, a follow-up scan and revisit a month later decide closure or a 3rd.

- Developmental tracking is essential during helmet wearEven a light helmet can strain immature neck muscles, so a specialist tracks development closely during wear.

Head asymmetry and restricted neck movement can occur together, so both are assessed. Torticollis is evaluated from neck posture and movement.
