Sensory Integration Therapy

About this care

We assess responses to sound, touch and movement and difficulties in daily life. An occupational therapist plans play-based activities from the results.

When to seek a consultation

  • Questions about eye contact and interaction
  • Difficulty following spoken activity instructions
  • Strong responses to sound, touch or movement
  • Frequent falls or difficulty with movement
  • Difficulty joining play or sustaining attention
  • Repetitive actions that interfere with daily participation
  • Discussing care after developmental assessment

From play to daily activities

We observe posture, movement control and interaction during play. Difficult daily activities are discussed with caregivers to set therapy goals.

How it works

1. Sensory Integration Assessment

Sensory modulation testing, Denver, parent interview and observation profile sensory processing and daily performance.

2. Analysis & Treatment Direction

Observed responses and daily activity difficulties inform treatment goals.

3. Play-Centered Personalized Sessions

Movement and play are adjusted to the child’s responses while participation is observed.

Precautions

  • Tests are matched to your child at the consultationThe director personally matches standardized tests to each child's concern and behavior.
  • About home coachingContinue the activities recommended for home. Discuss your child’s response and any difficulties with the therapist at the next session.
