This injection treatment uses collagen. We assess the ligaments, tendons and cause of pain before selecting the site and plan.

When to seek a consultation

  • Ankle or wrist painRecurrent ankle sprains or wrist pain with movement can be assessed for ligament and tendon involvement.
  • Elbow painPain around the elbow when lifting or using the wrist is assessed alongside tendon attachment sites and repeated activities.
  • Inner knee painInner knee pain when walking or using stairs is assessed to identify the painful area and condition of the joint and surrounding tissue.
  • Other tendon or ligament painRecurring pain is assessed for its location and cause before discussing whether an injection is appropriate.

Precautions

  • After-injection careSwelling or redness may occur at the injection site. Discuss expected reactions before treatment and contact the clinic if symptoms persist or worsen.
  • Avoid straining the joint for 3 daysSo the collagen settles and bonds well, avoid forcefully twisting or over-stretching the joint for at least 3 days after the injection.
